THE BPS VOICE COMMUNITY
VOICE TRAINING BEYOND TECHNIQUE
The BPS Voice Community is an evidence-informed learning space for singers who want to understand their voice more deeply and build healthier, more sustainable singing practices.
Rather than focusing on vocal exercises alone, we explore the biological, psychological, and social factors that shape how you sing, practise, learn, perform, recover, and grow.
This community is for singers who are curious about how their voice works — whether you are developing your technique, returning to singing, managing vocal fatigue, building confidence, preparing for performance, or wanting more support between lessons.
What Does BPS Mean?
BPS stands for biopsychosocial.
It recognises that singing is influenced by more than muscles, breath, and vocal exercises. Your voice is shaped by your body, your mind, your environment, your habits, your musical experiences, and the demands placed on you as a singer.
Biological
This includes how your voice functions physically: vocal coordination, range, registration, breath behaviour, articulation, fatigue, recovery, vocal health, and efficiency.
Psychological
This includes confidence, perfectionism, performance anxiety, self-talk, attention, motivation, practice habits, and the way you respond to challenge or uncertainty.
Social
This includes your musical environment, teaching experiences, rehearsal settings, performance demands, relationships, community, and the expectations placed on your voice.
By understanding all three areas, singers can make more informed choices
and develop a clearer, kinder, and more practical relationship with their voice.
