2017 Jazz Gala Concert featuring The Idea of North

You are invited to join us for a celebratory evening of excellence, passion and discovery as the ANU School of Music celebrates the achievements of 2017 with a Jazz Gala Concert featuring special guests the Idea of North.
The Idea of North were formed as a jazz-based, a capella quartet, in Canberra in 1993, by Nick Begbie (tenor), Meg Corson (alto), Trish Delaney-Brown (soprano) and Andrew Piper (bass). All four members were students at the Canberra School of Music, which later became the ANU School of Music. The group are described as a jazz quartet but they also sing pop, R&B, classical, folk, soul and gospel and have covered material by the Beatles, Peter Allen, the Muppets, Aretha Franklin and Bee Gees. The Idea of North will perform with the Jazz and Contemporary Faculty Ensemble, Alumni and students of the ANU School of Music.
